Dr. Shu Schiller is Associate Dean and Professor of Information Systems in the Raj Soin College of Business at Wright State University.
As Associate Dean, Dr. Schiller leads the effort in accreditations, including the successful AACSB reaccreditation in 2021 and the ABET reaccreditation in 2018. She guided and facilitated the collaborative efforts that established the Data Analytics & Visualization Environment (DAVE) Lab, which became the hub for analytics in the college. Under her leadership, the college achieved many academic innovations, including launching new programs and building interdisciplinary collaborations with other colleges and units.
Dr. Schiller is committed to achieving diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in higher education. She strongly advocates for equal opportunities for every student to complete a college degree. Dr. Schiller advocates for women and minority groups and supports their access to education and career advancement. She also served a three-year term as Wright State’s institutional representative to the American Council on Education (ACE) Women’s Network Ohio.
Dr. Schiller's passion for education is deeply rooted in the greater Dayton region. She is a select leader in the 2021 Dayton Emerging Leaders program, served on the Executive Board of Technology First, and established the first fifteen-member Corporate Advisory Board in the ISSCM department. Dr. Schiller collaborates with organizations such as the Dayton Chamber of Commerce, the Dayton Area Logistics Association, Dayton Workforce Partnerships, and the Association for Supply Chain Management to promote educational and professional opportunities.
Dr. Schiller established the Corporate Advisory Board in the Department of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management. In 2021, she led the effort to create the Defense and Government Advisory Council for the Raj Soin College of Business. In July 2022, she became a member of the Board of Advisors of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA). Dr. Schiller served on the Association for Information Systems (AIS) Council (2018-21), the premier professional association for over 4,600 members worldwide.
In both academics and practice, Dr. Schiller is recognized for her achievements in data analytics. At the 2013 inaugural TEDxDayton event, Dr. Schiller gave a talk on storytelling with data. From 2013 to 2014, she spent a one-year Faculty Fellowship at Teradata Corporation, working with professionals on big data analytics. Dr. Schiller expands her passion for data by teaching Data Visualization and Data Storytelling. She believes that we need to articulate and communicate data insights through powerful, compelling stories. Dr. Schiller published many articles in peer-reviewed academic journals and presented numerous times at conferences.
Dr. Schiller holds a Ph.D. degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, from the Fox School of Business at Temple University.
